Eddie Hallam

Eddie is an artist; a biology graduate; and award winning nature reserve warden; and a former wildlife park director. First and foremost, however, he is an active and passionate wildlife conservationist. For many years Eddie has lived in a small hamlet in the Derbyshire Dales. An outdoor countryman through and through, he is never happier than when in remote, wild places studying and watching wildlife.

The work he devotes to his life-size bronze pieces is borne of long hours studying wildlife with the result that they are completely truthful to nature. When you buy a bronze sculpture you get the combined skills of the sculpture, the mould maker and the bronze foundry experts who all come together to produce a work of art by using the "lost wax' method of casting. This system originated 5000 years ago and has changed very little over the years. The sculpture is then returned to the sculptor who patinated each one individually by using heat and chemicals.
