Caroline McLachlan
I was born in Pembrokeshire and have sketched and painted as long as I can remember. I am particularly inspired by rugged land and seascapes, but I paint whatever ‘ grabs ‘ me. When I left school I went to the Laird School of Art in Birkenhead, before spending 5 years at the Royal Academy of Music studying singing. After this my life was taken up by being a GPs wife and bringing up two boys. More recently I completed an Open College of Art course with Margaret Layton, which was both enjoyable and useful. Since then I have been lucky enough to work with several inspirational artists, including: Ken Howard, Hugo Grenville,, Lucy Willis, Tom Coates and David Tress. All these artists have been hugely influential to me and have given me great encouragement with my painting.
