Niki has been living in Hermon, Pembrokeshire for the last 7 years after a lifetime of living all over the world, soaking up the many cultures and experiences that have shaped her creative identity and honed her varied crafting skills. She particularly loves encouraging creativity and artistic pursuits in others and believes that we should all aim to embrace art and craft in all its forms. Niki particularly loves working with natural materials especially stone and glass which led her to slate, a material that her home is surrounded by and which underpins the landscape in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire. From this elemental appreciation of the landscapes and legends of West Wales, Wild Slate Workshops was born - an opportunity for others to spend time with Niki enjoying the immersive craft of mosaic-making using locally sourced slate. Through teaching others, she has found a way to celebrate and share her love of this ancient material.
